Birthday Fun

What a weekend!  Friday night went out with a friend.  Saturday was filled with basketball games and at night I went to a 40th vegas-themed party that was a-ma-zing!  It was at their home and catered by Ruth Chris Steakhouse, bartenders, dj, and full-sized craps, roulette tables. SUCH fun.

Needless to say I was exhausted by the time Sunday rolled around when I had a family party for my youngest son.  He turns 4 this upcoming Saturday, but I have a wedding to go to so moved up the party.

Here are some highlights.  He had such fun and I received hundreds of hugs and kisses from him as a thank you. :)

He wanted an Alvin and the Chipmunks theme, but there is NOTHING for sale with them - so odd!  So I did music/rock star stuff for the goody bag and then the bag was filled with pinata goodies too.

Our traditional number cookies using this recipe. They were good.

I need to take a cake decorating class as my efforts are pathetic!  BUT it tasted good!  Tried a recipe my friend recommended for Black Magic Cake.  Doubled the recipe -- it was moist and not too sweet.  Excellent.

I have been so busy my party planning efforts are going downhill.  Lots of carbs and cheese were on the menu.  All kid pleasers and that's the point of the day. ;)

  1. How nice this birthday party decorations look! Thanks for sharing these pictures here. I also need a couple of party inspirations for my daughter’s birthday. She wants an outdoor party at a local venue New York. So please help me by suggesting some girlish birthday themes!
