Hasbrown & Egg Breakfast Cups

I made this recipe (minus the bacon) for Bird's Nest Breakfast Cups and oh my they were fantastic.  My oldest went crazy for them.    Changed the name in the title of this post to something I would remember as I will certainly refer to this recipe again - delish.

In other news someone posted something on facebook that made me search for something else and I found this:

Damn straight
And this:

Double-damn straight :)

An Important Day for this Working Mom

Yesterday I hit a major milestone in my career -- I was officially promoted to Executive Vice President!   I am THRILLED and so excited to see where my travels (literally and figuratively!) take me with this next step.

How did I celebrate this big news?

Bingo Night at school with my three sons. ;)  Complete with me spilling an entire glass of wine all over myself and my youngest having a complete meltdown.  Ah, the life of a working mother. :)

Kids are loving the big snowstorm we are getting today.  I should probably busy myself with cleaning out the office upstairs, but instead I am going to relax for once.  My big to-do is to make an apple pie and osso buco.  Figure that's a slow-cooking meal so I can entertain myself by getting up to check the stove 40 times. ;)

Happy Saturday!

Birthday Fun

What a weekend!  Friday night went out with a friend.  Saturday was filled with basketball games and at night I went to a 40th vegas-themed party that was a-ma-zing!  It was at their home and catered by Ruth Chris Steakhouse, bartenders, dj, and full-sized craps, roulette tables. SUCH fun.

Needless to say I was exhausted by the time Sunday rolled around when I had a family party for my youngest son.  He turns 4 this upcoming Saturday, but I have a wedding to go to so moved up the party.

Here are some highlights.  He had such fun and I received hundreds of hugs and kisses from him as a thank you. :)

He wanted an Alvin and the Chipmunks theme, but there is NOTHING for sale with them - so odd!  So I did music/rock star stuff for the goody bag and then the bag was filled with pinata goodies too.

Our traditional number cookies using this recipe. They were good.

I need to take a cake decorating class as my efforts are pathetic!  BUT it tasted good!  Tried a recipe my friend recommended for Black Magic Cake.  Doubled the recipe -- it was moist and not too sweet.  Excellent.

I have been so busy my party planning efforts are going downhill.  Lots of carbs and cheese were on the menu.  All kid pleasers and that's the point of the day. ;)

Nana's Christmas Cookies

Saving these two recipes for my kids from their great grandmother so they have it for reference down the road. :)

Recap
The kids had a blast playing with their friends NYE.  My oldest loves his new DJ set.

My friend did a great job hosting NYE.  Complete with edible chocolate shot glasses filled with milk for the kids.

The other big news here is my "baby" isn't a baby anymore  he learned to write his name yesterday.  I am so proud.  Fitting time too since the crib and some other baby stuff were broken down and officially tossed.
Wishing everyone all the best in 2016!
