How To Work With People That Aren't Good At Working With People

Harvard Business Review has some great articles for the workplace that can also be applied to personal life.  I thought this article, which provides tips on how to deal with people who have low emotional intelligence interesting.

Hope everyone has a great day. Counting the minutes to the weekend!

Banana S'mores Melt

I am limping through this week after a crazy weekend.

I took Friday off to cheer on my big boys at their walk-a-thon.  They had a half day so packed lunch for them and right after school hung out at the park with some of their friends.  In the evening went out with some moms from school.

Saturday was a lot of running around. Took the little two to a barbecue while the other two went to a communion party.   Went out later that night for a bit.

Sunday had two families over and had beef shish-ke-bob, rice, salad, corn.  It was SO GOOD!

We had a whole bunch of goodies for dessert.  My friend brought over these chocolate banana smores melts that we threw on the grill.  So delish.  We had some leftover and since I hate to waste, instead of chucking it the next day I threw them in the blender with almond milk and ice to make a shake.  It was AMAZING!  My oldest in particular went crazy for it.

And Monday was quiet for the most part.  We went to see the parade in town. I sat out back with the kids and we played games, they went in the pool.

Happy Hump Day!

Two things I want to capture that happened yesterday.

My middle guy walked into the room with a piece of cheese on his eye.  He said he couldn't reach the ice pack so he was going to use the cheese instead to soothe his eye which was hurting.  He then ate the cheese before I could catch him.  :)  It was really cute and funny.

Also my youngest came home with the sweetest drawing of me and him from school.  On the back of it his teacher wrote how amazing this is for someone his age.  So proud!  Took some photos of him holding it and now it is hanging proudly on their artwork wall.

Getting excited for the long weekend ahead.  Time to review summer pinterest recipe boards to try some new recipes.  Can't wait!

In other news, I love that Chandalier song by Sia.  I made the mistake though of looking at the video.  The dancing is amazing, but it is dark and creepy!

Party Weekend

Had a busy, fun weekend.   Friday night went out with some friends to dinner.

Saturday birthday party followed by a night out with some friends.

Sunday I took my littlest guy and my nephew to Build a Bear.  They were SO CUTE!! I was in Berlin for my nephew's 1st birthday party so even though the rest of my gang was there to help him celebrate I wanted to make up for my absence and do something special with him given it was his 1st.  :)  We wound up staying at my brother and sister-in-law's for dinner and I sat on the back patio and relaxed which was a nice change of pace.

Have a busy day ahead.  Can't get Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk out my head, which is going to be distracting but maybe once I get crackin' it'll leave. ;)

Communion Weekend

What a great weekend.  Friday night was hectic getting ready for my big boy's communion. I was up late into the night baking cookies in the shape of a cross for the big day.

Saturday, the day of the communion, was great.  My big guy looked so handsome.  We had a nice party at a local restaurant afterwards to celebrate.

Mother's Day was a lot more running around then I would have hoped.  Went to visit my grandmother, ran errands.  My husband went shopping and cooked for me, the kids and his grandmother.  Not sure what army he was feeding because there were a lot of leftovers.  By the end he was exhausted and the house looked like a bomb hit it, so I told him to sit with his grandmother and I cleaned up. :)

He made my favorite - steamers - plus steak, asparagus, peppers and onions, mushrooms, salad.  It was gorgeous out so we ate outside which was so nice!

I told him not to bother with dessert since we had a lot of leftover cake from the communion.  This was before I realized he never took the cake in from the trunk the night before (UGH!).  It pained me to throw out such an expensive cake (even though baker said it should be fine I get weird with the buttercream frosting not being in fridge), so I cut off frosting and cubed the actual cake and layered it between fresh whipped cream and berries to make a trifle.  It was delicious.

I am a genius. :)

Beautiful Weekend

What a GORGEOUS weekend!

Friday I left work a little early to take my big boy to a birthday party.  He had a blast with some of his friends driving race cars.

Saturday was low-key.  Tball in the morning and the rest of the day was spent with my 3 little men in the back yard playing. The neighbor's kid's came over before dinner and then rejoined us after dinner for an impromptu ice cream party.  They had so much fun.

Yesterday was looonnngg.  Went with my entire family to the zoo.  Everyone else had the same idea apparently since it was packed.  Felt like we walked for 8 hours and saw 2 animals.

My middle guy was complaining the whole walk back to the car until we distracted him to run and jump on everyone else's shadow.  So he perked right up and was running even for a bit to try to catch his own shadow.  Hilarious.  If you learn the art of distraction you can always keep a kid in check.

Looking forward to fast forwarding through this week to get to Saturday when my big boy makes his communion.  The big decision is which of the two dresses I ordered from Nordstrom will be the winner for the big day....I can't decide. :)

Hope everyone has a great week!
