November Dinner Party

Double batch of Cinnamon Bread - one for my freezer for the kid's snack during the week and the other for our guests to take home.

Gooseberry Patch's Homemade Christmas - Pork roast seared, put in crock pot, topped with butternut squash, apples, cranberries that were tossed with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Cup of apple cider poured over and cooked for 6 hours.

I have never used the crock pot for entertaining since in my mind it is usually to help me on a weeknight when I have work.  It looked beautiful going in, but it was just ok coming out.  Would have been better in the oven as a roast.
Served with cinnamon carrots, quinoa casserole and this delicious salad from Gooseberry's Homemade Christmas.

Spinach, romaine and iceberg tossed with cider dressing.

Cider dressing: 1/4 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed, 3 T sour cream, 3 T water, 2 T cider vinegar, 2 T fresh parsley, chopped, 2 T apple, cored, peeled and finely shredded, 1 T Dijon mustard, salt and pepper.

Banana Halloween Candy Bundt Cake

We all loved the cake - it's a keeper!

I gave the kids little buckets with leaves printed on them filled with thanksgiving candy corn, a package of fruit snacks and a glow ring and they settled down to Willy Wonka.  It was a great day.
